Legion Bowling

On behalf of the American Legion Post 327 Family, I want to welcome each Legionnaire, Auxiliary
Member, and Son of the American Legion, to the 2022 Virginia State Bowling Tournament.
The tournament will be held at Joint Expeditionary Base (JEB) Little Creek’s Gator Bowl Saturday Feb.
19th and Sunday Feb. 20th. Sign in will begin at 9 am on Saturday. The Doubles Event will get things
started on Saturday morning no later the 10am and will immediately be followed by the Singles Event
starting no later than 1pm. The Team Event will be on Sunday morning starting at 10am. Please factor in
a little extra travel time Saturday morning for sign in and extra time due to security measures and ID
check at the gate before being allowed on board the base. You will be entering the base through Gate 5.
This Gate is located off the major intersection of Independence Blvd and Shore Dr.
The tournament application can be electronically filled in before printing. If filled in manually, please
print very clearly especially on the third page which will be forwarded on to base security and used for
your base access. This list is for anyone that does not already have base access, e.g, a Retired Military
ID, Active-Duty ID, DOD ID or another form of base pass. Please list all adults in the vehicle that will
be accessing the base, not just those bowling.
The tournament fee for all events will be $92. When submitting your application all fees can be paid by
check or money order only, please do not send cash with your application. The mailing address for your
application is located on both the information page of this package and the application itself. The
breakdown of the price is also on the Team and Doubles/Singles tournament applications.
We have dinner and entertainment planned for both Friday and Saturday nights at Post 327 for your
enjoyment. There will be raffles both days at the bowling alley as well as both nights at the Post. There
will be plenty of great prizes to be given away! FYI there is no ATM at the Bowling Alley so please
make sure if you want in on the fun that you bring cash with you.
Our post family is planning two outstanding dinners for everyone both Friday and Saturday nights.
Friday will be our Auxiliary Shrimp Dinner, and Saturday the Son’s Squadron will be putting on a Steak
Dinner.
There is a place on your tournament application to fill in as to how many from your team and family will
be attending both dinners, to allow for an accurate head count.
There will be a van/shuttle going back and forth from the Hotel to the Post.
Post 327 has both beer and wine for sale on the premises, but it is BYOB on liquor.
