  Welcome to the start of the new membership year. We are at 48.95%, it’s a good start, but we need to get a start on our Post 141 members and promote transferring into a post. Good luck everyone! I am looking forward to seeing you at the National Convention in New Orleans Louisiana.

Congratulations to Post 295 and Post 114 for meeting or exceeding 120%. Meanwhile Posts 10, 34, 247, and 360 are so close to 100%. Vice Commanders and post membership chairs, it’s not too late to promote renew for two or three!

Just a reminder that the district convention will be held at Buck Keyes American Legion Post 28 17934 Liming Lane Triangle Virginia. The Convention will start promptly at 10am. Post Commanders or a Post representative should attend as well as committee chairs and officers of the district.

Just a reminder that the above reports: Americanism, Children and Youth, VA&R and Consolidated Post Reports are due to the Department no later than May 16th.

We are sitting at 100.89%, and need just a few more posts (10, 28, 34, 72, 290, 360 and 2001) to reach 100%. If you need help with closing the gap, feel free to contact Bob Brady, or the district vice commanders.

Please join us for this free annual parade that honors all Veterans. The 15th Annual Northern Virginia Veterans Parade will be held at 11 a.m on Saturday, 4 November in Old Town Manassas. Good news, we are less than .3% short of next week’s Veteran’s Day Award goal of 65%. We are 10% away of the December goal of 75%. Now is the time to continue with the Buddy Checks as we are go into the holiday season. 

The District is doing well with membership, but we still have a few posts requiring some assistance. Please help with the processing of all renewals. As part of the Buddy Checks, all posts are encouraged to contact everyone who has not renewed over the last two years or more. See you at Williamsburg this weekend.

The district is 4.5% from achieving the Veterans Day Goal of 65%. There are a few posts who can make it happen. Let’s help them get over the top! See you all at the Department Fall Conference!
