Today, the 16th District Legion Family took time to remember the the Four US Army Chaplains, who gave up their lives for God and Country. The 16th District held the Annual Oratorical Contest January, 29th at American Legion Post 10 Manassas. The winner is Lauren Bradshaw who was sponsored by American Legion Post 10.  Miss Bradshaw was the previous year's winner and she will be returning to the regional Oratorical Contest, scheduled to be held at American Legion Post 74 February 19th at 10am. Congratulations to Miss Bradshaw and the other contestants from Post 290 and Post 247.    

The District Oratorical Contest will be held at American Legion Post 10, 9950 Cockrell Rd, Manassas, VA  starting at 10am. Contestants and judges should arrive one half hour prior to the 10am start. The Springfield American Legion Riders Chapter 176 is sponsoring a Bike Blessing and Poker Run to benefit the "Willing Warriors Final Salute". The Run will start at American Legion Post 176, March 26th at 9am with the Bike Blessing and the ride will commence at 10am, with stops at Posts 162 Lorton, 364 Woodbridge, 28 Triangle, 10 Manassas, 72 Warrenton, 177 Fairfax, with a return to Post 176. The American Legion/Virginia State Police Youth Cadet Law Enforcement Program has been scheduled for Sunday, June 26 to Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Virginia State PoliceAcademy in Richmond.
