A dear friend and comrade entered post Everlasting. James E. Althouse was a highly dedicated and active Legionnaire, and Legion Rider. His long list of positions held, is only a fraction of his impact to the American Legion Family. Doing the thing he loved, up to the very end. He will be missed.

15th and 16th District League bylaws It looks as if we will have 4 Senior teams this season: Post 290 Stafford, Post 72 Warrenton, Post 21 Winchester, and Post 34 Leesburg. Post 330 Culpepper has not yet formed a team.   Post 290 is the only League Post to have a Junior team.   I guess it is still possible for other teams to form; but, to date, these are the only Posts to identify their teams.   And we won't know final League, Regional, or Department structure until we have final registrations ...

The American Legion Riders Legacy Run is on! Starting from American Legion Post 146, Hopewell Virginia the ride will make several stops during the first day and end at Post 3, Salem Virginia. Lauren Bradshaw won today's Northern Region, Department of Virginia High School Oratorical Contest. The event was held Saturday Morning at American Legion Post 74, Keswick Virginia. The oratorical contest has two segments the first covering 8-10 minute oration on a subject from the U.S. Constitution, and a 3-5 minute segment on a random subject also based on the constitution.
